Playin in The Band
Some folks trust to reason others trust to might,
I don’t trust to nothin, but I know it comes out right.
Say it once again now, whoa, I hope you’ll understand
When it’s done and over, lord, a man is just a man.
Question? If an (electric) Apricot Tree falls in the forest and no one is there to hear it, does it actually make a sound? That’s what this producer wants to know! Today I was reminded by my associate Leanne at BAIT (No relation to Lianne of Cannibal fame.) that today was our big DVD release day for Electric Apricot: Quest for Festeroo!! Oops it had slipped my mind completely as I am still bragging about another epic year at the New Orleans Jazz Fest where I got see Stevie Wonder and roll with my friends from the band Vinyl! In fact it was the Vinyl Crue’s 10th year running – so we celebrated that fact with blueberry pancakes and mimosa’s after Vinyl’s annual “Breakfast Show†at the Maple Leaf Bar. Check out Vinyl, who have been the CRAPtv house band for many colorful events in year’s past.
So if you didn’t know about the official DVD release for Electric Apricot: Quest for Festeroo – don’t feel bad cause I didn’t either! But it is available now at Club Bastardo, the official Electric Apricot store. Be sure to check out the combo deals at the CRAP Store too! And keep an eye out for it this summer at various festivals, brew pubs and beyond. The film has played theatrically in over 40 cities now and was recently booked at an official Burning Man 4/20 Staff party – so who knows where it might play next?!
Cannibal: The Musical Live is continuing to catch fire!! The Insurgo Theater Movement of Las Vegas turned up the Shpadoinkle to 11 with their last run of shows. They pulled in sweet reviews and enthusiastic audiences. So what happened in Vegas… Is going to keep happening in Vegas as John Beane and company are bringing the show back for another summer session. Check them out HERE and start looking for hotel deals!
I am also pleased to announce that Cannibal: The Musical is stepping up for a major international debut at The Edinburgh Fringe Festival with Frazer Brown at the helm with The Rival Theater Company. That’s right Edinburgh, Scotland and for 20 shows during what looks like one month of thespian paradise. I am looking into ways to make the trip and perhaps if my gambling goes well during the Vegas Shows – I will invite a lucky guest Cannibal Fan. In the mean time you can make friends with the UK Cannibals HERE!
I have been shooting more for Boing Boing and hostess extraodinaire Xeni Jardin, who have taken me on new adventures to meet folks who have helped create Wired Magazine, Speed Racer, the Electronic Frontier Foundation and this pretty bad ass geek haven called Tech Shop! So be sure to check out BOING BOING a directory of wonderful things!
And be sure to check back here soon for new Cannibal: The Musical show announcements and perhaps a couple of major new developments for CRAPtv!
