Well, they say it’s kinda frightnin how this younger generation swings.
You know, it’s more than just some new sensation.
Well, the kid is into losin sleep and he don’t come home for half the week.
You know, it’s more than just an aggravation.
Please Check out the CRAPtv Forums if you haven’t already – it’s a fresh content farm!
The crazy year known as 2007 ended like a Whirling Dervish for me! It was non-stop action – work play work play, always working always playing, all work and all play makes Jack a full boy – so I am not complaining that’s for sure!
Let’s just start with the fact that I scored sweet floor tickets to Van Halen from my very good friend Kam from Kamiam.com. Kam’s mom surprised her with plane tix back to Pittsburgh for Thanksgiving and to my delight and her chagrin – she sold me her ticket the day of the show because she had to board a flight home instead. Fortunately, Kam had a great Thanksgiving with the family and got to see Van Halen in December, because The Cradle Did Rock! Sure there was some cheese and a few canned vocals – but the band was psyched and played their oldies but goodies with David Lee Roth fronting the show. Diamond Dave had a shit-eating grin the whole time sucking in the stadium’s raining applause (and money) as he displayed his high kicks and quality vocals! Wolfgang Van Halen had his Dad Eddie so psyched it was unreal! Eddie was on a pink cloud as young Wolfgang laid down the bass lines for the band. It was pretty sweet to see this 15 year old chubby cherubic male rocker version of Valerie Bertinelli stepping up to the stadium size shows straight out of the gate! Good Times. Strangely – I recently dreamt that I was hanging out with Michael Anthony, Van Halen’s ousted Bass player.
Since then I hit Costa Rica with Matt and Angela and Kenny Hotz. Kenny was like the crazy jewish uncle that I never had, who was getting recognized by Swedish tourists and busting out one liners every 5 seconds! I got home to catch his show Kenny vs. Spenny now finally airing in the USA and saw the episode where he competes to see who can be tied to a goat the longest! Fine programming indeed – and supposedly there are 63 more waiting for me! Wow Uncle Kenny!
The holidays hit and it was time for another New Year’s Eve Hatters Ball Extravaganza at the old Fillmore Auditorium hosted by Colonel Les Claypool. This year we presented an aquarium theme and the band rocked the New Year in with a guy surfing the crowd on a ten-foot long board to the surf rock song Hendershot before they dove into a version of Octopussy’s Garden sang by Adam Gates in a fancy Shark Suit.
Anyway it’s 2008 and we’re still talking about Electric Apricot: Quest for Festeroo! We have had a good run so far with our theatrical release! We were held over in several cities and even had a sold out show in New York City via a word of mouth thang – so we’re happy about that and excited to support the continued art house run for the movie!
It’s premiering today in San Francisco and Salt Lake City and hitting more cities from there which you can read about here: electricapricot.com
The Electric Apricot: Quest for Festeroo DVD is coming out March 18th so stay tuned for that!
And big props out to Paul aka Cannibal Lover and Keith aka Alferd for all their help on the recent CRAPtv server switch! We have new hosting and should be on an even keel for the foreseeable future! So let’s rock 2008! There’s lots of new and old content coming soon!
