The town of South Park falls victim to corporate America in an all-new episode of South Park premiering Wednesday, November 3 at 10:00 P.M. (EST) on Comedy Central!
The little mountain town of South Park is changed forever when a very large warehouse superstore opens its doors in an all-new episode, entitled “Something Wall-Mart This Way Comes,” premiering Wednesday, November 3 at 10:00 p.m. on Comedy Central.
The streets of South Park are like a ghost-town when a giant Wall-Mart lures the townspeople to the new store with its incredible bargains. Cartman becomes a boy possessed by the power of Wall-Mart and its low, low prices. In order to save their town, Stan and Kyle have to find a way to destroy the ever-expanding superstore while keeping Cartman from stabbing them in the back.
Im really excted about this episode. Im just wondering if it is going to turn into the theme of the episode gnomes. Anyways, Thoughts?
Sounds good, I can't wait to see it.
I want to see Cartman as a Wall-Mart greeter!

Just saw the commerical. Can't wait to see it more now.
I wasn't sure about this one at first. It sounded a bit too much like Gnomes but from what I've seen in the commercial it looks good. Seems like an episode that isn' really making a statement about anything, just really funny!
The trailer for this episode is now on SPA News.

Half of sputh park episodes dont have a message, and their like the funniest ones. Well in my view they are, i.e Fatt butt and pacake head.

808 was... Okay.
I don't feel that it was on the same level as the first half of the season (which was pretty good).

to cody- i acknowledged the fact that "dey took er derbs" was the best part of the ep
and to fish- goobacks BETTER than awesom-o?!?!??!

(sorry, had to use that smiley..........it's cool..........anyways.........) the part at the end with cartman dressed as britney spears automatically makes the ep better just cuz it's so goddamn funny. but who could resist an episode featuring butters getting conned by cartman who ends up getting conned by butters?!?!? confused? me too...........

Wait, are you saying that Butters purposely conned Cartman? And is that what you're questioning, nobby?
Of course, Cartman did end up looking like an idiot in that one, but the question is - did Butters do it on purpose?

Breayle drives me crazy with her spelling mistakes. Someone needs to point out to her that it's "Wal-Mart." One "L", dash, "mart."
southparkpike
Nov 3 2004, 12:44 PM
to alferd...........did butters do it on purpose?!?!? he filmed cartman dancing as britney spears with a video camera. he was going to blackmail cartman eventually if he really pissed him off, cartman just happened to have the upper hand on butters in this case because butters is a gullable, though likable, idiot
and to station8......i had thought they wanted to purposely spell it "wall-mart" so in fact they could get around the loophole of referring to "wal-mart" but it actualybeing a different store "technically" because of the one letter change

He did tell AWESOM-O he had some goods on Cartman, and that he was going to use them against him someday as payback.

Ofcourse butter's did it on purpose, as will said, he had threatened cartman to use it when talking to awesom-o.

Sorry, I've only seen the episode once, and I don't remember it very well. I guess my question was really, 'did Butters know that Awesom-O was actually Cartman, and was just playing him?'

I liked it--in fact, I was at a Wal-Mart in South Jersey last week, trying NOT to buy everything and trying to JUST buy what I came in for. There are no Wal-Marts near where I live--the closest is around a half hour away, so going to Wal-Mart is a novelty for me-- I know how Randy Marsh felt going to Wal-Mart. Don't get me wrong--there are plenty of big shopping malls, but none of them have the low, low prices of Wal-Mart!
But Wal-Mart sucks when they say they won't sell a particular book or dvd because of it's content--seriously!

So far the quality of episodes and episode ideas has been quite astounding. Im suprised with what they have come up with what with lack of time and all. Cartman playing violin was sweet, and then him giving kyle the finger made it a whole lot sweeter. And kenny punching cartman fucking halarious, great episode.

Butters didn't know, but once he found out, payback was all the sweeter. The amazing thing is how Cartman was willing to humiliate himself to find out anything on Butters.

I loved the episode! I have worked at a Wal~Mart for a number of sad years now and it seemed about right to me. The one, I am at, is not in a small town though, just a suburb. A mall, K~mart, and Target Greatland can be seen on the surrounding horizon. Actually I will be bringing in the episode to work so others can watch.
The thing that surprized me though is they took such a long time to address the 'Wal~Mart' issue. I have only heard Wal~Mart mentioned twice before by them. Once in an episode of South Park Kyle says: "...and we shop at that Wal~Mart over there..."
I got the impression South Park had a Wal~Mart close by. Then it is mentioned in the "America, Fuck Yeah!" song as well.....
The Violin was a nice touch, something else that needed to be made fun of.
-------
I just wanted to add...
I thing that keeps me wanting to watch South Park Episodes, is no matter if I enjoyed the story or not there is an underlying lesson that keeps my attention.
And no matter how horrible an episode maybe, there is a gag or statement that will make me laugh.

That was Stan, in Red Man's Greed (707): Just because you have a piece of paper saying you own it doesn't make it yours. We grew up here. Our parents grew up here. We shop at that Wal-Mart, and eat at that Chilis. We take fish from the streams and bread them and freeze them to make fish sticks. This is not just a town, it is our way of life.
And then they obliterate Stark's Pond for a Wall*Mart.

That is rather sad, they obliterate Stark's Pond, when there is one close already,
but very Wal~Mart.
