South Park co-creator Matt Stone has revealed he wants to lure ex Monty Python and Fawlty Towers star John Cleese to appear on South Park by writing an episode for him.

Matt Stone, who along with Trey Parker have been writing South Park since it began in 1997 commented in an article published by US news website The California Chronicle that "I'd love to meet John Cleese - he is a legend."

And Cleese may not be the only British comedy star to get the South Parked, after Stone revealed he is "a big fan of Steve Coogan, Peter Serafinowicz, Robert Popper, Simon Pegg, Edgar Wright and Sacha Baron Cohen."

"I'm friends with some of those people now" he added, "when I see them, I always think they're all friends with each other."

"I'm like, 'Hey, you guys all hang out in this one cafe in London, right?' They're like, 'No, dude, I don't even like that guy'. It's kinda weird".

Bizarre but cool. John Cleese has appeared in US sitcoms that he was a fan of in the past, such as 'Cheers' and 'Third Rock From The Sun' so it's not an impossible idea of Mr Stone's.

Cleese was recently in the news over here as he has ruled out ever writing and doing a other series of the totally genius Falwty Towers. sad.gif (Cleese Rules Out Return of Fawlty Towers)

And Matt thinking that all the UK comedians hang out together is kinda sweet in that American way of thinking that the UK is so much smaller than the US so every comedian knows each other, right? sp-cartmanderp.gif

I've been asked by US-ians if I knew Irish people they knew who lived in Sligo or Galway (cities over a hundred kilometers/miles away from Dublin) because the America supposed that Ireland was so small that we all lived next door to each other...

On another random note - I wonder if the lovely Mr Stone is visiting the UK at the mo....?

Not if you have Magic Powers, then they might want to meet you!

I saw John Cleese in person, maybe 15 to 20 feet from me. He was leaving the building and there was a crowd of computer people. I worked for technical trade show and he was the main guest speaker. The entrance to the auditorium where he spoke was next to the internet kiosk I was working.

Another time working a lite security position on an upper level for the ESPY awards, I saw Mike Tyson, Bobby Lee, David Koechner (OMG! he is so tall), and Forrest Whitaker. Seeing Forrest was exciting.

Best compliment I've ever received was when a guy told me my eyes looked like his. tongue.gif
