It was kinda interesting stand to take, once again. The obvious joke would have been ridiculing Britney but they decided to ridicule the audience instead. First I didn't think it looked like it was gonna be a good one. Only after they showed her surviving the suicide it started to be interesting. I liked the point they made and the point of view from which they looked at the subject. Still, wasn't über funny.
Actually, I think that was maybe the darkest episode ever.

It's funny that they went this route, and didn't present Britney as another Paris. Especially since Britney has voiced her opinion that she hates the show. Mad props to Matt and Trey.

And the most surreal, seeing Britney operate without most of her brain and head. On the one hand, it says that she could be almost brainless and still make money for her label and the music industry in general. On the other, it says that we treat our idols like so much meat, milking them for all they've got before we throw them away or sacrifice them to infamy. Leave them alone!
I do think we're much too concerned with celebrity here in the States. This goes back to "Osama bin Laden Has Farty Pants," where the boy in the blue vest says his civilization is better "than a civilization that spends its time watching millionaires walk down the red carpet at the Emmys!"

It seems like it was one of those shows like 'VH1 Goes Inside South Park' or one of the countless articles I've read over the years.
But I definitely remember reading that Britney didn't like South Park. This was at least 5 or 6 years ago, when the show was really starting to reach a mainstream audience.
Don't have any links or anything though. Like I said, it was a while back.

i am very impressed. i glad they did this topic. it seems I’ve discussed this subject in the recent past. You would never see that kinda coverage in Florida, unless you were watching E! or some entertainment news show. it puzzles me how the morning news can start out with a “Britney Watch” and it usually does. I asked the people here why they watch that garbage news program. They said just to see what those crazy fuckers are going to do. Don’t know that I’ve seen the “weather slut” actually talk about the weather.

Well, she certainly wasn’t running around sluttin it up like Paris, she was speaking in a British accent to reporters for goodness sake. When the clip of her speaking british showed up (it’s nearly unavoidable to see Britney news) i just shook my head and thought, poor girl.

Yeah, but with her daddy in the background trying to milk it for all it's worth, it will be the
"grandaddy" of all fuck ups. I know it's coming. He probably fingers her backstage or something. Or she grew up watching daddy banging hillbilly groupies as a young babe. Something...
He's all over her show. He's lost the mullet, but got some cheesy do and a flavor saver now. He must be stopped.
As far as crushed dreams, I'm sure her popularity will nosedive well before the real downfall. The "E True Hollywood" kinda plummet. I noticed they exposed her lip sync deal with the body double and the BS hype over her 3D concert release pretty fast, they will surely be ready when it does come.
Headless Britney. And camel toe.

That's a good call. He does seem to always be sitting next to her. It's like, wait, we know he's her dad. lol But that's cool though I guess, I'm not hating. She seems like a cool kid, and I wouldn't like to see her fail.

Yes, darker. Cartman didn't bring back Scott's parents and put them on stage at the VMAs, where millions could see them, follow them, and shoot pictures until they died for good. I was really interested as to how far Cartman would go back then (note that he made sure he wasn't around to see Mr. Jenkins kill Scott's parents), but Britney's attempted suicide was too much even for him.
Although Radiohead was in both eps.

Having a dark
joke or two doesn't make the whole episode dark. Scot Tenerman episode was pretty light and funny otherwise, the ending was just kind of what-the-fuck. But I think the whole Britney episode was kind of dark and creepy, more or less. I'm not putting it down, I liked it though. Just creeps me out a bit.

They definitely wanted everybody to be creeped out. It was creepy. But who hasn't thought to themselves, "Britney Spears is going to fucking kill herself, she can't get any privacy. And she's losing it."
