Happy New Year People,

For all of you regular crappers - my apologies for our crappy servers this past month. Its been one hiccup after another, but hopefully we just burped out the last one. But ya never know with hiccups there could be one more down yonder ready to surface. Lets hope for the best. wacko.gif

In the CRAPtv news these days we have a few items of interest.

1. So there is no new release dates for the Cannibal: The Musical 11 year annniversary DVD yet, but it is on my list to discuss with Troma. We have just started the process for a Soundtrack re-release which will feature "Shatterproof" as a bonus track, so thats cool. There are some new Cannibal Live stage shows that are popping up - more news coming soon about that! We are really excited about the new line of Shpadoinkle shirts now available in regular and girlee styles! And we are really really excited about a brand new Cannibal: The Musical Game that will be available to play on line sometime in 2007!!! More news on that in the spring! packer.gif

2. My new movie Electric Apricot: Quest for Festeroo will be playing the SXSW Film Festival March 16th and the band Electric Apricot will play on the 17th - so grab your green apricots and get to Austin Texas if you can! It will be a party, but get your tickets in advance because these will sell out! We are still trying to get our ducks in a row for the Electric Apricot theatrical release and DVD release. We know it will be in 2007 but we still don't have our details ready to announce and were still waiting for the Great Pumpkin to arrive....

3. As some of you know I am working on a book called sCRAP BOOK and I am still ass deep in the project and have recently put myself on house arrest in order to finish this draft. It is many months away from completion, but much more will be revealed about the whole CRAPtv Book scene in March! sp-tp.gif

4. We are also working on a general site makeover that shouldn't really effect anything too much, but we will be adding Google ads into our margins in order to pay for our crappy hosting and general expenses. Hopefully no one is too offended by that and if you are then go buy a CRAPtv tee shirt to express your dissatisfaction and hopefully we will start our new underwear line in 2007 too! thumbSanta.gif

Other than that we are generally excited about what 2007 has to bring - it should be an interesting year for sure with new levels of convergance converging into the great beyond!!

Rock on!!

I've just started adding Google ads on my site. My relatives have been bugging me to get some monetary returns on the space I pay for, so I'm on it.
poopstain
How much do they pay?

Can you control the content in any way, as in avoid the dancing silhouettes from Hell?

Will they pop up in the middle of my screen, to the detriment of my reading and posting pleasure?

The Google ads are pretty tiny and non-obtrusive, especially if they're in the margins as opposed to taking up the entire banner width at the top like on some sites.
nobby
The Google margin ads usually are not bad--they have them on the Google site when you do a search. I think that the advertisers have to pay each time they're clicked on---and if that keeps Crap afloat, I'm all for it. It costs money to keep things on the "Internets Tubes" and we're all rather spoiled by so much free information on the internet.

Thats kind of what I am thinking... They need to be super unintrusive to the forum experience - otherwise I will get pissed off.... And if for some reason they are too annoying we can take them down and start a CRAPtv pyramid scheme instead!

I have google adsense on my site, it's tidy looking, not that great paying though

There are three types of ads you can have - search, link, and regular - and you can mix and match them. As for content, you can choose content-based ads (Google will check out your site's content and generate ads based on it. Mine are South Park ads, naturally) or non-content based ads.
Psycheout
you can filter sites you don't want, when I first started I blocked a bunch of sites advertizing "texas gay singles" etc (highly irrelevant for a british soccer forum), you can add your own keywords to make it more pacific, after a few weeks the right sites that you want to advertize will get through.

Does anyone still remember beef-cake.com? Towards the end, there was a banner ad--it was usually maternity clothes.....weak.

i don't know how beef-cake.com will come back. but it's on a server now.

do you have any suggestions? would you like to help?

Taison

I have no suggestions, and I've got plenty on my hands with my own site and with SPS - if I could help him out, I could probably do it myself - so I didn't reply. I included his email address if any of y'all wanna get in touch with him.

That was Jonathan 'Elvis' Davis, who didn't get nearly what he thought he was going to get working for them, and he was let go when Breayle came in to run the site.

And lo...
