What is the joke? I've never heard it, I've been looking for a while.
Will
I have a copy of Trey saying the joke somewhere. Gotta browse my disks.

The article completely ignores the anti-humor aspect of The Aristocrats. The joke can be genuinely funny as the South Park version proves, but the punch line will always be the confused reaction of those who aren't in on the joke. In that light this movie will either be very entertaining or, in the alternative, the ultimate joke on those who see it expecting it to be really funny. It will be worth seeing just to find out which it is.
Misty
I believe I read about this somewhere; someone mentioned that the joke is that it’s not really a joke at all, but it is told to an unsuspecting victim with others around involved in the telling of the joke. That way when the ridiculous punch line is told the others will laugh and the unsuspecting victim’s either completely lost and laughs just to join in or completely disgusted.

Personally, some of the ones I’ve read made me laugh because they are so absurd. One version in particular on the thread ends with the baby crawling out of the dad’s ass like Lemmywinks. Now that made me laugh, such creative imaginations people have.

EDIT: Damn CL, you beat me to it.
shpadoinkleman
i cant wait, this may very well be the highlight of entertainment for 2005.
Misty
I think you're right, it would be worth seeing to hear what raunchy crap the comedians can dish up.
Will
Dunno when it'll reach you guys, but it'll be in L.A. and N.Y. on July 29.
shpadoinkleman
i doubt it will reach me till its out on dvd

Cartman the Aristocrat

I think the funniest part of Cartman telling the joke is him telling Kyle to "just hold on" as Kyle continues to get agitated.

When was that filmed? Trey looks old and fat and he's talking about the movie cumming out, but there's a bunch of "old friends" there like Masao Maki San and Robyn Lynne Raab. Also, who's the confused chick?

According to this post it was filmed after they finished taping the Orgazmo drunken commentary, so it was a few years back if I am correct.

Also, this post offers an idea of who the confused chick is.

I think I am going to have to see this. I wonder if it will make it to my town :\

I'm not driving to fucking Miami are you kidding and Orlando is 4 hours away. Are you CrAzY Will? laugh.gif
Brennan
Mattt filmed it, the confused chick is Lori, Jason's then girlfriend (I believe). It was filmed after the Orgazmo commentary. It's also Mattt talking at the very beginning.

That movie looks amazing!!!!

Here's an article from Newsweek:

'Smatter, Can't You Take a Joke?

If you want to hear the dirtiest joke ever told... don't bother heading for your local AMC megaplex. The theater chain has decided not to show the buzzed-about documentary "The Aristocrats" on any of its 3,500-plus screens, and the filmmakers aren't laughing. The $20,000 unrated film features 102 comedians, each telling the same infamous joke—involving a XXX stage act—passed down from comic to comic since vaudeville. (The punch line is the film's title.) Despite great test screenings—and a cast with figures ranging from Jon Stewart to Phyllis Diller—AMC's film group chairman, Dick Walsh, decided, according to a company spokeswoman, the film "would have very narrow appeal."

The filmmakers think that's ridiculous. "Look, it's a stupid little movie that people are loving," says executive producer Penn Jillette (of Penn & Teller). "So this is like a supermarket announcing that it's not going to carry vegetables. It's their right to do that. It's just a goofy decision based on one person's taste." (Last year AMC did show John Waters's NC-17 nymphomania comedy, "A Dirty Shame," which made only $1.3 million.) ThinkFilm, which is distributing "The Aristocrats," says that AMC had agreed to show the film at theaters in Atlanta and Chicago, but then renege. "In my 20 years in this business, I've never heard of this happening," says ThinkFilm CEO Jeff Sackman. AMC counters that it "considered" booking the film but never committed to do so.

AMC is such a huge chain that its snub may make it harder for "The Aristocrats" to reach its audience. "It's the kind of thing that makes you go 'Come on, play fair'," says Jillette. "It's not like we're trying to slide this by anybody by calling it 'Love Bug 2: Herbie Takes It Up the A—'." Actually, that would give a more accurate idea of what you'll hear in "The Aristocrats"—if you can find it.

—Sean Smith

[note: I've never seen the article -- I'm only quoting an email from a company who's doing publicity for the movie]
