That was awesome Brenn. Kyle looks like a natural on camera... or he just really wanted to get in the house to get high :sp-towelie:

I just watched Episode 504 and there he is... still completely visable. At the end, when the super best friends start to fly away, they appear to be moving in the pattern of Galaga

QUOTE(GATSU @ Apr 21 2010, 08:00 PM) Looks like they got death threats. Surprised they didn't take it to the next level and do a Pedobear-type spoof. Hmm. somehow a space and a <br> are inserted into the url when one clicks on it. Anyway, here's the article: QUOTE The creators of "South Park" better watch their backs. That's what a radical Islamic group based in New York "warned" on their Web site, RevolutionMuslim.com, using violent imagery to express their unhappiness over the depiction of the Prophet Muhammed in a bear suit on the 200th episode of the long-running Comedy Central series. The episode never actually depicts the Prophet Muhammed, but indicates him as a character wearing a bear suit. "We have to warn Matt [Stone] and Trey [Parker] that what they are doing is stupid," a posting on the Web site stated on Tuesday, according to reports. "They will probably end up like Theo Van Gogh for airing this show," it noted, referencing the Dutch filmmaker who was murdered in 2004 over a documentary he made that addressed violence against Muslim women. "This is not a threat, but a warning of the reality of what will likely happen to them," the statement reportedly concluded. The suggestion that the message, accompanied by violent imagery, was not meant as a "threat," was echoed by the author of Islamic group's Web site post. "It's not a threat," Abu Talhah al Amrikee told Fox News, who noted that the show's use of the religious figure could invite violence. "They're going to be basically on a list in the back of the minds of a large number of Muslims," he said. "It's just the reality." Despite claims that they did not seek to invite violence against Stone and Parker, the site also reportedly revealed where the "South Park" creators work, and included a sermon calling for punishments for blasphemy against the Muslim religion. The site no longer appears online, and a phone number associated with the group has since been disconnected. The Prophet Muhammed was featured in "South Park" in 2001. An episode in 2006 was to feature the Muslim figure again, but Comedy Central censored the scene and it never aired. -------------------- Arrive alive.

'South Park' Episode Censored After Threat
NEW YORK (April 22) -- After a radical Islamic group issued a thinly veiled threat against the creators of "South Park," the network aired an episode with references to and depictions of the Prophet Muhammad blocked out. A note on the show's website said Comedy Central had inserted "numerous additional audio bleeps throughout" the show, adding "we do not have network approval to stream our original version of the show." The episode was the second half of a storyline that began last week with an episode depicting the Prophet Muhammad in a bear suit. A day later, a blog post on Revolution Muslim's website warned the satirists that the episode would likely leave them in the same position as Dutch filmmaker Theo Van Gogh, who was shot to death while biking to work in Amsterdam in 2004. Van Gogh had made a short film critical of the treatment of women in Islamic society. "We have to warn Matt [Stone] and Trey [Parker] that what they are doing is stupid and they will probably wind up like Theo Van Gogh for airing this show. This is not a threat, but a warning of the reality of what will likely happen to them," Abu Talhah Al-Amrikee wrote in the post A phone number listed for the group has been disconnected and their website has been taken down by its host, according to The Globe and Mail. But a separate blog is up and running and yesterday the group posted a lengthy clarification of its response to the South Park episode. "We are not trying to directly incite violence, but we are trying to explain the gravity of the situation and prevent this from occurring ever again. As stated in the words of the Prophet (peace be upon him) above, if one cannot alter the situation with their hand then they must speak out against it and try to change it that way," the group writes in the post. The subplot involving Muhammad is meant to satirize the controversy surrounding cartoons published in Europe in 2005 and 2007 depicting the prophet's image. The cartoons led to violent protests and condemnations across Europe and the Middle East. In 2006, Comedy Central banned "South Park" creators Stone and Parker from depicting Muhammad in their show. "By placing the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) in a bear suit, the creators of South Park sought to insult the sacred, and show their blatant and general disregard for religion," the blog post says. "By insulting our beloved Prophet (peace be upon him) without the outright depicting of his image, the creators of South Park thought that they had found some loophole in the Muslim faith for them to mock." In an interview with The Globe and Mail, Younes Abdullah Mohammed, one of Revolution Muslim's founders, said they were not calling for Stone's and Parker's killings outright. "If it happens to them, they deserve it," Mohammed told The Globe and Mail, explaining that sharia law would allow the killings. "'South Park' plays a role in the hedonistic, vice-based society that keeps America ignorant." Last year, Mohammed told CNN that there was nothing wrong with the Sept. 11, 2001, attacks. "I don't think it was wrong, I think it was justified," Mohammed said. "We're commanded to terrorize the disbelievers." In the interview, Mohammed defines "terrorize" as "making them fearful so that they think twice before they go rape your mother or kill your brother or go onto your land and try to steal your resources." -------------------- At a certain point in your life, probably when too much of it has gone by, you will open your eyes and see yourself for who you are, especially for everything that made you so different from all the awful normals. If anyone has paid attention to our "Steve's Louisville" stuff, we've gone around and done "Free Pictures With Steve" so people can tag themselves on facebook.
I wanna now go out with a giant picture of the South Park Mohammed and do a "Free Pictures With Mohammed" thing where anyone who believes in free speech can get their picture taken with it to show they ain't scurred. Then post it online and encourage others to take pictures of themselves with Mohammed (peace be upon him). Said like Steve Irwin: "That oughta reeeeeeally piiiiss em off!" |

Maybe you should have Steve or yourself draw a Muhammad. Whose to say that SP got it right if no one knows what he looks like? Maybe this is the Phophet Muhammad => :sp-towelie: or this => :sp-mrslave: I guess my point is that if this is your idea to speak out against the extremist views of the religion then why not your own version of Muhammad as opposed to the dutch artist's version or that of South Park. Maybe if new versions are shone all over, then SP's wouldn't be the only asses on-the-line. ;) -------------------- At a certain point in your life, probably when too much of it has gone by, you will open your eyes and see yourself for who you are, especially for everything that made you so different from all the awful normals. I am really slow with this, the interview is from May. But did you notice they write: "Your current contract with Comedy Central takes you to 2013, at which point you’ll have been doing “South Park” for more than 15 years.".
As far as I know the current contract includes 15 seasons, so it ends at the end of 2011. Did they extend it without an official statement? Or do you think it's just an error in the interview because there seems to be no other sources for this? They already copied it to Wikipedia ;). It seems strange to sign a new contract without making it public... and only for two more years. -------------------- |

That IS strange and I've wondered that too. So then I remembered something over in the FAQ at SPS. It doesn't really give an answer but it seems to be the most recent thing we can go by and it still doesn't clarify the interview. :/ But it's this-
Thursday, June 17, 2010 I might be a little late on this question, as my internet has been down, but a friend of mine said that Season 14 of South Park is the last one. Please bring me good news and say that he was wrong because South Park is the best show ever. ~~~~~Please reply~~~~~ Good news...your friend is way wrong. At the very least, South Park has been renewed through Season 15. We're in the middle of Season 14 right now, so we still have a good amount of new South Parkage guaranteed. And who knows, the network could always renew us for more episodes! Not exactly the best news, but maybe the interview leaked something that wasn't suppose to be announced yet??? There seems to at least be hope. ;) -------------------- yo
