Mindfield Version 3.0 was our best yet at ye olde Lollapalooza 2006. It was a multi-media three ring circus and big thanks to everyone who participated in the experience especially the CRAPtv.com forum members who made the trip! I think it looks good for more chance like this in the future due the excellent clown work provided by ALL!!! :thumbSanta:

This year Mindfield had its very own stage with 2 large LED screens flanking the sides. It was a far cry from Booty Camp which we rocked across country in 2003. Booty Camp was considered the ghetto stage with a super crappy PA system, broken mics and lots of love, but generally bad equipment. This year we got turbo and had a several teams of people working for us.

We had a set of Mindfield Mini Movies which consisted of CRAPtv Forum Content Sample, Second City Viral Video and some international animated shorts.

We had 3 sets of Improv from The Second City, Mission Impovable and Shadenfreude which were all super cool. It was really great working with these Chicago Improv troupes they brought alot of game and went over really well with the Lolla crowd.

The Battle Royale Stars rocked the stage and all of Grant Park in their masked super mexican glory! And so did our Insane Clown Posse. I was worried that the clowns would be a nightmare, but they turned out to all be super cool Mindfield Ambassadors who brought alot of color to the really big show - so they will be back in some form or another I am sure!

We pulled off a bunch of new hidden camera pranks which we will be posting in the upcoming weeks and months. We pranked Perry by introducing him to "Mel Gibson's Son" who then asked him all these edgy questions about being jewish - Perry handled the prank well of course! Perry also introduced a song from his new band called Satellite Party which was cool. He Toasted the Mindfield Audience with Champagne for 200 as we launched into an amazing DJ set by Mixmaster Mike which was a major highlight of the weekend.

I didn't see too much music because Mindfield keeps me so busy, but I brought a small night vibe crew out to see Ween and Kanye West. Ween is one of my big favorites - I caught them with the Flaming Lips at Red Rocks en route to chicago which was a special treat. The Ween set at Lollapalooza had some fireworks that sprung up over the lake towards the end of their set which was kinda special too. Kanye turned in a classic rap set complete with Show boating, bitching and cool special guests like Twista! I heard lots of great things about lots of other bands. And The Mindfield Stage was taken over by something called the Electronic Ambush at night which was way cool as Grant Park needed some Thump and some VJ Visuals lighting it up....

As soon as I returned, I accompanied Les Claypool on his LA book tour and took a great meeting about Electric Apricot: Quest for Festeroo distribution which kept me super busy last week.

So now I am catching my breath and starting to get ready for Burning Man and another year with my friends at Camp Disorient!

Oh ye of little faith.....So it was written.......Yea verily I say unto thee, blessed are the clowns of the earth for theirs is the mindfield kingdom....

Do not forget how they persecuted them on the booty stage who came before thee, but rejoice and be exceedingly glad, for great will be thine reward at Lollapalooza.

O clowns of the earth, arise and do stuff! A big stupid clown is hard to hide- Neither do ye try to hide it under a bushel, but let it shine to all who are in the house.

Therefore suffer not the little clownlets to come unto me, they shall be perfect, just as your Mcfather in heaven and your clown mommie are perfect.

Amen

At a certain point in your life, probably when too much of it has gone by, you will open your eyes and see yourself for who you are, especially for everything that made you so different from all the awful normals. And you will say to yourself, but I Am this person and in that statement, that correction, there will be a kind of love. ~ Mrs. Dodger

I'm still sad I couldn't go. Spent it at a funeral instead.
I was working on my rental car when I got the news.
Sigh...
